About

Marsha Lynn Mayes-Burton is the author of From Abuse To Forgiveness: A Journey to Freedom which details her experience of being sexually abused at the hands of a cousin and holding on to that secret for over forty years of her life. In this book she tells the story of how this abuse impacted her life and how she was able to forgive and move on. Marsha recently completed her second book – Bullying, It’s to For Me: An Activity and Workbook for 4th through 8th grade children. This is an interactive book for children to learn about bullying – what it is, what it looks like, and how it affects everyone. This book also gives strategies on how to stop bullying. Both books are available on Amazon.

Marsha holds Masters’ Degrees in Dispute & Conflict Resolution, Social Work, Divinity with a concentration in Black Church Studies, and is presently matriculating for her Doctorate in Ministry. Marsha is an ordained minister and serves as Associate Minister, Membership Coordinator, and Intercessor at New Mount Zion Baptist Church of Shelbyville, Kentucky .

Marsha is the founder of Moving Mountains Network, a network of ministries dedicated to helping women and children heal from abuse and trauma. Marsha also founded and operates Circles of Peace, LLC which provides comprehensive conflict resolution and management training, mediation, anger management, stop bullying training, relationship coaching, seminars, workshops, and retreats. She is also a court approved mediator and a facilitator for Restorative Justice Louisville (RJL).

Marsha is married to Howard E. Burton. Although they do not have children of their own, they have been blessed with over 24 nieces and nephews.

In all the experiences of her life (good and not so good) Marsha always remembers Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
